The Union Cabinet has approved an 11.56-kilometre extension of the Noida Metro Aqua Line from Sector 142 to Botanical Garden, strengthening metro connectivity between Noida, Greater Noida and Delhi. The elevated corridor will add eight new stations and enable a direct interchange with Delhi Metro's Blue and Magenta Lines. The project involves an estimated investment of INR 2,254 crore and will expand the operational Noida Metro network to over 61 km. Residents of a housing society in Noida have urged the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Jal Board) to take action against the developer of their project after the builder failed to clear a substantial unpaid water bill, leading to accumulated dues of around INR 1.36 crore. The society said the outstanding amount relates to supplies from April 2025 onwards and that they have been left to rely on water tankers while regular connections remain unresolved. The builder's management said it had paid approximately INR 28 lakh towards the bill and attributed delays to incomplete water connections, noting that contributions from residents were still pending for a third connection. The Noida Authority has decided to implement a land pooling policy to secure agricultural land from farmers for urban development, after efforts to buy land at existing rates stalled due to resistance from landowners. The policy, already approved for industrial bodies under state regulations, will allow farmers to contribute land to pooled development and receive a share of the developed plots with 80 % for industrial use, 12 % for residential and 8 % for commercial instead of receiving outright cash compensation. Officials estimate around 500 acres along the Noida Expressway could be brought under the scheme. The authority has also raised the direct purchase rate from INR 5,500 to INR 9,000 per square metre to encourage voluntary sales of smaller plots. Experion Developers has announced plans to invest INR 1,500 crore in an ultra-luxury residential project in Sector 151, Noida. The five-acre project, named Saatori, will include around 450 units with a total built-up area of nearly 16 lakh square feet and is expected to be completed over the next four to five years. Shukra Pharmaceuticals has secured a letter of intent for 10 acres of land at the Greater Noida Medical Device Park from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority to develop an INR 600 crore manufacturing facility. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has carried out a major demolition and anti-encroachment operation to reclaim approximately 25 acres of land near the upcoming Noida International Airport, officials said. The action targeted unauthorised housing colonies and illegally plotted land in villages such as Dayanatpur and Sabota Mustafabad that were being marketed to buyers as airport townships without approvals. Demolition teams cleared a roughly 12-acre colony and adjoining parcels, and also removed encroachments on a key access road leading to the airport. YEIDA officers, supported by police and revenue officials, were present during the drive and said first information reports will be registered against illegal developers. The reclaimed land is estimated to be worth around INR 400 crore and forms part of the authority's broader crackdown against fraudulent real estate activities in its notified area as infrastructure development around the airport advances.Read more

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has declined to extend the deadline for its one-time settlement (OTS) scheme, meaning around 7,200 plot allottees in the Noida region now face possible recovery action if they do not clear outstanding dues by the end of February. The decision was taken at YEIDA's most recent board meeting, where officials observed that despite multiple previous extensions and reminders since December 1, only a small fraction of defaulters had availed themselves of the settlement offer. Total outstanding dues amount to nearly INR 4,950 crore, and the limited response to the OTS window prompted the board to maintain the existing deadline. The authority's board also approved the allocation of land for a model school and reviewed progress on stalled housing projects under the state government's rehabilitation policy, involving more than 6,800 homebuyers.Read more

The Noida International Airport at Jewar is expected to be inaugurated later this month, according to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Supreme Court has upheld insolvency proceedings against Bhasin Infotech and Infrastructure Pvt Ltd and Grand Venezia Commercial Towers Pvt Ltd over delays and non-delivery of a Greater Noida project. Dismissing appeals filed by former directors, the court agreed with findings of the insolvency tribunals that the developers failed to hand over functional units and did not obtain mandatory completion approvals. The case was initiated by 141 allottees who had paid for 103 units but neither received lawful possession nor continued assured returns promised by the developers.Read more

The Uttar Pradesh government has prepared a detailed proposal to introduce a metropolitan corporation for Noida, following directions issued by the Supreme Court after examining governance concerns at the Noida Authority. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) plans to launch a major residential plot scheme this month, offering 973 residential plots near the upcoming Noida International Airport, reflecting strong infrastructure-led demand in the region. The plots, to be offered across Sectors 15C, 18 and 24A along the Yamuna Expressway corridor, will range in size from 162 sq m to 290 sq m and are expected to be priced at an average of about INR 35,000 per sq metre.
