The central government has informed the Rajya Sabha that 10,000 air-conditioned electric buses will be deployed across 116 cities in 26 states and Union Territories by the end of 2027 under the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme. Patel Engineering Ltd has secured a contract worth INR 230 crore for pre-construction works of the 1,125 MW Dorjilung Hydroelectric Power Project in Bhutan. The Andhra Pradesh government has initiated development of a large-scale steel manufacturing facility by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India in Nakkapalli mandal, Anakapalli district, with an estimated investment of INR 1.36 lakh crore. The project will be developed over 5,465 acres in two phases, with a total planned capacity of 17.8 million tonnes per annum. The first phase will deliver 7.3 million tonnes, followed by 10.5 million tonnes in the second phase. The project is expected to generate around one lakh direct and indirect jobs.
