Muzaffarpur is undergoing a major transformation with infrastructure investments exceeding INR 6,640 crore. The city is also revamping its transport with a INR 442 crore Muzaffarpur Junction upgrade and a INR 25 crore Patahi Airport redevelopment under the UDAN scheme. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari recently stated that Madhya Pradesh's national highway network will outperform the United States' within the next two years. While launching and laying the foundation stone for 10 highway projects worth INR 5,800 crore, he also assured that infrastructure development projects worth INR 3 lakh crore would be completed in the state within a year. Emphasising the Centre's commitment to development, Gadkari cited the role of infrastructure in generating employment and alleviating poverty. The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has completed a 70-metre steel bridge over DFCCIL tracks near Vadodara, marking the seventh such bridge on the Gujarat stretch of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor. Installed in a 12-hour window using phased traffic blocks, the bridge weighs 674 metric tonnes and was fabricated in Durgapur. It is part of the 'Make in India' initiative, with over 10,000 tonnes of steel used across seven completed bridges so far. Featuring high-strength bolts, corrosion-resistant paint, and a 100-year design life, the structure reflects advanced engineering. The Union Cabinet and CCEA have approved three major infrastructure projects worth over INR 4,800 crore, focusing on agriculture and transport. The M-CADWM scheme under PMKSY, with INR 1,600 crore funding, aims to modernize irrigation through micro systems, starting with pilot projects across agro-climatic zones. In transport, a 19.2-km, six-lane bypass in Zirakpur (INR 1,878.31 crore) will ease regional congestion and improve connectivity to Himachal Pradesh. The Maharashtra Government has agreed to act as guarantor for an INR 10,000 crore loan extended by Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFCL) to fund infrastructure projects across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). A Government Resolution issued earlier this week confirmed the cabinet’s nod to this financial arrangement for the 2024–25 fiscal. Although a new guarantee is being issued due to the previous financial year closing, it remains subject to further cabinet clearance. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), designated as the principal borrower, is responsible for monthly updates to the finance and urban development departments. Overall, the state has permitted MMRDA to borrow up to INR 60,000 crore, of which guarantees for INR 24,000 crore have already been extended.Read more

In a move aimed at boosting transparency for homebuyers, MahaRERA has enforced a new regulation requiring developers to display the project's MahaRERA registration number, QR code, and the regulator's website in a font size equal to or larger than the project's contact details in all advertisements. This mandate, which came into effect earlier this week, applies across all advertisement platforms-print, digital, and outdoor. Developers failing to comply may be fined up to INR 50,000, and repeated non-compliance after a 10-day grace period will trigger further action under the RERA Act.Read more
