In a bid to tackle illegal commercial activities on residential plots, the District Town Planner (DTP) conducted a two-day sealing operation in South City 2 and Uppal Southend. On October 15, three properties were sealed, including two guesthouses and a basement gym. The following day, two more guesthouses and one unauthorized structure were sealed in South City-I and Greenwood City. Residents expressed relief, highlighting ongoing issues such as increased traffic and security concerns due to these establishments. The DTP plans to continue these operations to enforce regulations against the misuse of residential areas for commercial purposes.
The District Town Planner (DTP) initiated a two-day sealing operation in South City 2 and Uppal Southend, located in Sector 49, focusing on illegal commercial activities taking place on residential plots. During the drive last week, three properties were sealed, which included two guesthouses and a basement gym.
The following day, another similar operation in South City-I and Greenwood City resulted in the sealing of two additional guesthouses and one unauthorized structure. Additionally, an encroachment issue in Uppal Southend was resolved following a complaint submitted through the CM Window.
An official from the DTCP indicated that additional sealing drives would take place in the coming weeks. He remarked that the misuse of residential areas for commercial purposes has been an escalating issue in licensed colonies and reassured the public that they are dedicated to enforcing regulations and promptly addressing such violations.
In conclusion, the sealing drive reflects the DTP's commitment to maintaining the integrity of residential neighbourhoods. Continued enforcement actions are expected to address the growing problem of illegal commercial activities, ensuring a safer and quieter environment for residents.
