Founded by Ruchi Gupta and Gaurav Sharma, Barneys Hard Seltzer operates in India's growing Ready-to-Drink (RTD) beverage segment. The company focuses on zero-sugar and low-calorie products aimed at consumers looking for healthier beverage options. With India's large and young population, demand for such products is steadily increasing, driven by changing lifestyle preferences and awareness around wellness.
Barneys has positioned itself among early entrants in the RTD wellness category in India. Its product range includes premium offerings with a mix of global and Indian flavour profiles. The company has seen growing acceptance in the market, indicating rising interest in functional and lifestyle-oriented beverages.
The founders plan to expand the company's footprint across India, strengthening its presence in urban markets while tapping into emerging demand in new regions. The focus remains on scaling distribution and increasing product availability.
The Chennai Angels, one of India's active angel investment networks, has backed the company as part of its strategy to support businesses aligned with evolving consumer trends. Founded in 2007, TCA comprises entrepreneurs and business leaders and has invested over 135 crore across more than 80 startups.
Barneys Hard Seltzer continues to build its position in the wellness beverage space, aiming to cater to consumers seeking low-calorie and modern alternatives. The funding is expected to support its next phase of growth as the RTD segment gains traction in India.
